John's Internship
"During my internship at Parsons, I was initially exposed to multiple projects through the customary administrative roles of an internship, which served as a great introduction to corporate structure and the ways in which projects are managed and organized. However, the most valuable portion of the internship was when I eventually came to be associated with Brian and his work in managing a new project.

Under Brian's management, our team was tasked to stand-up a new Parsons product. I was introduced to practices concerning business development and strategy implementation I had previously only experienced as concepts in undergraduate business school. My internship revolved around generating cost estimates, ROIs, development timelines, and capture materials, among other items; essentially, it served not just as a window into project management, but into a cross section of business functions that normally might have been distributed across multiple individuals.

Furthermore, by virtue of this experience immediately following my semester studying in Europe, and proceeding the core year of my Business major, the internship strongly oriented me to my future desired career path. Specifically, it channeled an interest in international relations and defense policy into professional aspirations that I could pursue following my graduation. This positioned me to assume my current role within Parsons, working with the U.S. Air Force to strengthen relations with our international partners."

Upon Graduation

John took a position as an International Programs Analyst for Parsons Corporation, supporting the development and implemetnation of international armaments agreements on behalf of the U.S. Air Force.

Future Goals

John's future career path involves the eventual pursuit of an MBA, likely with an international focus, and potentially obtained abroad. Following completion of the MBA in the coming years, the desire is to continue to work in a career associated with the international business and policy, building on previous experience gained through the position with Parsons. Ideally, participation in an international field would also be linked to work with the U.S. military or the defense industry in some manner.
